GEP Support Limited aims to provide personal care and essential domestic support services for adults who require such services in their own homes. GEP Support Limited is able to provide services to older people (over 65 years of age), adults (between 18 and 65 years of age) and children (between 4 and 18 years of age) whose problems may include mental health problems, physical and/or learning disabilities, sensory impairments, dementia and end of life care. While the exact nature of service provided to each service user will vary and tailored to their needs, wishes, preferences and personal goals. Examples of the services that are offered:

Personal care tasks

Personal care tasks will cover physical assistance, prompts or supervision given to service users in connection with:

  • Assisting a service user to get up
  • Assisting a service user to go to bed
  • Assisting a service user with personal hygiene
  • Assisting a service user with general mobility
  • Assisting service user to dress
  • Assistance with eating and drinking.
  • Medication requirements and other health related activities
  • Prevention and care of service user’s pressure areas
  • Continence care – changing pads
  • Catheter care – changing bags and monitoring output
  • Caring for the terminally ill/dementia/hospital after care

Practical care tasks

Practical care tasks will cover support with household tasks including:

  • Making or changing a service user’s bed
  • Shopping for the service user
  • Paying a service user’s bills and advice on managing finances
  • Collecting a service user’s pensions
  • Service user’s laundry
  • Service user’s ironing
  • Preparing a service user’s meals, feeding and advising on healthy eating
  • Lighting fires for a service user
  • Vacuum cleaning
  • Other domestic tasks such as washing dishes, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of toilets and bathrooms

Social inclusion

Social inclusion will cover company and companionship in the following:

  • Attending local groups and day centres
  • Visiting family and friends
  • Making travel arrangements
  • Making and attending appointments e.g. doctor, dentist, optician
  • Accessing wider community
  • Attending personal preference activities such as hobbies and crafts
